Autonomous Intelligent Logistics: One Hundred Days of Safe, Continuous Operations for China–ASEAN Smart Border

Release date: 2026-04-27

The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026 put the development of China–ASEAN smart border gates in focus. Against this backdrop, CiDi’s deployment at the Chinese section of the Puzhai–Xinqing dedicated freight corridor and smart border crossing has achieved one hundred consecutive days of safe operations, featured as a representative case of intelligent cross-border logistics by China Central Television (CCTV).

Construction of the the China section began in September 2023, with operations officially launched on December 19, 2025. CiDi provides the core autonomous transport capability, supporting the transition of China–Vietnam cross-border logistics toward automated and intelligent operations.

Along the corridor, autonomous trucks operate in a fully integrated workflow, covering cargo handover, customs declaration, inspection, and clearance.

Over more than 100 days of continuous operation, the autonomous system has enabled streamlined clearance through dedicated lanes, significantly reducing waiting times and operational complexity. Compared with conventional trucking, autonomous operations achieve 3 to 4 times higher efficiency, while average customs clearance time per shipment has been reduced from approximately 10 minutes to under 3 minutes, a 70% reduction.

This performance is supported by CiDi’s technology stack, including optimized AI algorithms, intelligent dispatch, real-time route optimization, dynamic obstacle avoidance, and automatic emergency braking. The system has maintained a zero-incident record, underscoring its reliability and operational safety.

As China and ASEAN mark five years of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, CiDi’s autonomous smart border solution supports trade facilitation and contributes to regional connectivity and digital economic development.
